I use a lopper for limbs to cut off the bottoms to use for other crafts

My pine cones are not flat bottomed. I tried to cut the bottom off and only made a mess. How do you do that?

Try peeling away a few of the scales at the bottom. You can glue one or two back on with hot glue to make the bottom flat.
